Hi everyone! Ok…my patience has started to diminish…I WANT MY SISTERLOCKS!!! I need to grow out at least 1 1/2 to 2 inches of new growth before I can have Sisterlocks installed. Soooo…I decided that the only way to make progress, and FAST, was to get braids. I wanted something as close to wearing locks as possible, so I chose to get these kinky twist braids. I like them!!! I called up Machy African Hair Braiding Salon in Calumet City, Illinois and was able to get an appointment today. These braids should give my hair a break and allow it to grow. I’m going to keep them in as long as I can. Hopefully, once they’re ready to come out, I can immediately get ready for my Sisterlocks!

Hello. I just came across your blog. I am transitioning from relaxer to sisterlocks right now... my last relaxer was July 2009. I just got extension braids put in last week. I'm hoping that I'll have enough new growth to get started with sisterlocks by January 2010. (Before the braids I had about an inch of new growth in the center of my head but much less around the edges.)
